SERVICES
Explore the spiritual and community programmes offered by the Copenhagen Buddhist Vihara. From daily meditation practices and traditional blessings to youth moral education, our services bridge ancient Theravada traditions with modern life in Denmark.
January
Step into the new year with blessings. Our resident monks chant the protective Seth Pirith and tie blessing threads (nool) for peace, good health, and success.

April
Welcome the traditional Sri Lankan cultural celebrations and community blessings. The program features oil lamp offerings, traditional drumming, and the sacred head anointing ritual to invoke longevity and health.

May
Celebrating the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Buddha. The temple is adorned with colorful handmade Vesak lanterns and oil lamps, featuring guided meditations, Precepts observation (Sil), Dhamma sermons, and a community food stall (Dansala).

Monthly Discussions
Deepen your understanding of Buddhist philosophy with our resident monks. These regular sessions feature guided mindfulness and breath meditation, followed by interactive discussions exploring the practical application of the Dhamma in modern European life.

Regular Rituals
Participate in monthly full moon Poya day programs, observing the eight precepts (Sil) from dawn to dusk. The programs offer a structured environment for walking and seated meditations, flower poojas, and reflection on core Theravada teachings.

Dhamma School
Nurturing moral values and cultural roots in the next generation. Our weekly classes teach children basic Buddhist ethics, mindfulness practices, Sinhala language lessons, and traditional values, helping them grow as mindful and compassionate citizens.
